My little red Ford Pickup

I have a 1936 Ford pickup that was previously (before me) "somewhat" con- verted to juice brakes. Am currently doing a lot of cleanup/replacement/repair.
The conversion, in my opinion, was dicey at best, and after sitting for 11/12 years, kinda dangerous! I want to replace the old brake/clutch ass'y with a 1939 ass'y.
What are the pitfalls and problems I'm going to encounter? Any comments/assistance will be greatly appreciated by this old man.

Read up on juicebrake conversion...identify the parts you have...take it from there.
Post pics of what you have and we can sort out what you have on it now.
Hopefully you just need to service it and be on the road again.

Before you jump on the idea of 39 pedals, check on ideas to keep the 36 pedals. I'm sure there will be differing opinions offered here. I 'second' post #4

On 33/34 I use the original pedals with a bell-crank to the master cylinder.

Presently, there is a Wagnor single cyl. master mounted on a 4"x2" U channel bolted/welded approx 6" ahead of the front X-member. A crude bell crank operates the master. It's all a bit crude - just like to clean it up, also the X-member is pretty well mutilated. I plan on replacing ASAP!!
I will post photos as soon as I figure out how(technology is not my friend).

[I took these photos a couple days ago, the master has been removed to clean out lines and front wheel cylinders. there was rust developing as well as a lot of gelled crap]

Jerry: When I put 39 pedals on my 35 ford I think there was one hole that needed to be drilled. Also a hole needed to be cut in the floor to fill master. Dave/Green Bay

Tubman, I think so too. As soon as the truck was off the flatbed, I discovered that the brakes were dicey at best!! It has been on jack-stands for the past 4 months while I address a miriad of issues. Old vehicles DO NOT age well sitting still for a decade or longer.

Before you start your brake rebuild, I recommend you talk to Richard Lacy http://www.earlyv8garage.net. He is an expert in hydraulic brake conversions for our old Fords. His advise may save you some money and headaches. I have used him on my brake conversions/repairs.
