Default male door dovetails 1937

I'm having trouble finding a replacement male dovetail for a '37 sedan delivery rear door. I purchased reproductions (40-702550-D and 48-702550-A) and neither fit........any suggestions? Bill from All Ford Parts was very helpful.....but couldn't determine the correct part. Thanks, Andy ([email protected])

Does your door look like this?

If so... I can try to measure mine for you if needed....

Thanks Zack......My understanding is it might have an off set......the "37 body is the same as a '36....except the roof was filled at the factory. I'm not sure about the 1938 or '39. Thanks for the offer......I might take you up on it in the future. I enjoyed the story of the purchase of your sedan delivery.....how's the project going? Andy

Moving very slowly! not a lot of time or money..
the 38 and 39 body is basically the same as the 35/36 also... but I know at some point they went to a rear door with only 2 hinges... i would guess if yours has 2.. then it would be the same as mine...

. the 48 702550A part no. should be correct for `35-`40. the rear door is the same as the front doors. `35 to `40 are the same. only the on center ones are reproed. nobody repros the offset ones. the offset ones were used by ford to fine tune door alignment when needed and come in very handy when fitting a door. you can still find good used ones at swap meets. the originals are a lot thicker than repros and can be filed carefully for a perfect belt moulding alignment.---barry
