The car looks really nice. Hope the sale goes well for you.

I have to ask, though. A 1937 239? there might be a typo in either the year or cu in, unless the 221 has been bored over. A mistake like that can dent people's trust in the description.

Just trying to help (honest).

Mart.

Presentation of your car on BaT looks great with tons of photos. Please let us know how you BaT experience goes. Good luck.

Thumbs down Re: Bring a Trailer

No reflection on the vehicle the OP is selling ...

I tried to place a vehicle in their auction just a few days ago.

I found the application process to be lengthy and frankly too invasive.

Seems kind of sketchy that they offered to pay the difference between the highest bid and your reserve as Seller.

No Thanks ...

Jim

I'd be interested in how the process goes as well. I've been a BaT fan for quite awhile -- as a lurker, not a buyer/seller -- but I'm working on an OT car that I'm considering auctioning there. Thanks.

I consider collector car auctions to be most willing to be complicit to criminal fraud at worst, and grossly negligent in disclosure of facts at best.

Bring A Trailer seems to me not be one of those complicit. I had an O/T car I wanted to list with them. Five years ago it was in a hail storm and the insurance company wanted to salvage it. My wife liked it so we negotiated with them a bit. They finally said they would pay and I keep my original title, not a salvage one. We had the car fixed by PDR and it was flawless and still had the original paint. BAT agreed to list it until I got the CarFax on it the insurance company had turned it in as totaled. They wouldn't touch it after that, even with a disclosure.

I should have noted that my opinion was a general one, not of any particular auction house. There are exceptions to every generalization.

I certainly haven't had as many cars as most of you guys here, but I've had a decent share go through my hands. All had their problems advertised or found later (almost always found later).

Just nature of the game. But maybe I'm not spending enough bucks to get that perfect one with no issues...

Exactly right. Most all cars that are ever sold are because there was an issue that would cost more to fix than the car was worth to the owner. Oh, the regrets now!

First off! I have no knowledge of the op's car and it really looks like a very very nice vehicle. My comments are only in response to other posts. Being all post that are negative, are to the middle man. My hope is for best to the op.

I have no regrets other then selling something most times. Personally, When I bought my 36 it didn't run well. One cylinder was at 30# compression. Pulled the heads and had a burnt exhaust valve. 35jm sent me a good used valve assemble for 7$. Been running it for yrs. They could have done the same.

Just saying they all need tlc. Sometimes you get lucky, but other times... never expect anything. I got no dog in this hunt here.

I'm a bad seller as I walk around the car telling the buyer all that's wrong.

To conclude and as mentioned, that is one nice looking vehicle.

.

What problems is BaT having? Looks like Hemmings is copying what BaT created with a slightly different interface, and charging a lot more money for cars in certain price ranges.
