Default Model A Engine block with RC prefix

Some help please? I have a Model A Engine that has the engine number RC59055 with the star only following the number, not before the R. Can someone tell me the meaning of this? Thank you, Roger ( It is a rough cast pad not machined and has no witness marks of any prior stamping)

Most likely this block has been re-stamped by a engine re-builder in the past. it was a common practice for re-builders to do this so that if the motor came back for warren tie work the would be assured it was the block they rebuilt.

If it is as you say, "( It is a rough cast pad not machined and has no witness marks of any prior stamping)" this is simply a replacement block that was cast at Dearborn and sent to Richmond, California assembly plant that was MAYBE stamped at the Richmond, California assembly plant for resale through a Ford dealership somewhere in the USA.

That make sense Steve. I could email you a photo so you can see it if you would like. Sincerely, Roger
