Cool Spacer length inside shock link

Does anyone have an original spacer tube that goes inside of the shock link? Could you give me the length that should be. The A/M ones I have seem to be too long. So before I cut them down I'd like to make sure where I'm heading.

if everything is just right the shock links should snap in place. I use a piece 3/4" rod and shove it down in the top of the link and snap them in place. if they just fall in place, chances are they will by loose.
