Default 1940 ford pickup seat

What hold the seat in on a 1940 pickup. Is it bolted in or just sits on the riser. Was the back hinged to cab? Thanks.

The bottom cushion is mounted to plywood. At the front corners of the seat riser there should be two metal posts that stick up about 1 1/2". In the plywood there are holes that allow the bottom cushion to slip over the metal posts to hold it into place. The backrest is hinged to the bottom cushion via two metal slats that run horizontal up the backrest and protrude about 4" beyond the top edge of the cushion. Those slats slip into metal slots that are welded into the back of the cab.
