Backfiring Engines
Yesterday I posted about timing issues with my Model A and that it "backfired" a couple times when I was cranking it over. It occurred to me that with the advent of computer controlled ignition and fuel delivery, backfiring is a thing of the past and it's likely many folks today have never heard an engine backfire. Can you imagine what would happen if you went to a major airport to pick up a family member and your car happened to backfire...

Re: Backfiring Engines
I'm the sort of guy who would do that just because I can I'd look like this all the time . Get thee behind me, Satan - and push!

Re: Backfiring Engines
In my flaming youth we used to do that by momentarily turning off the ignition while driving and turning it back on. Sometimes it was a little louder than expected.
