Exclamation Speedo question for mrbilman...

You stated in your August 2 reply to my speedo cable question that I can push the cable...into the drive gear and "measure how much sticks out of the speedometer end." As measured from where on the speedo cable? From the top of the tightening knob? From the bottom? Thanks in advance!

Or if anybody else who is familiar with the spacer fix solution (that mrbilman suggested on the August 2 post) and can comment on I would appreciate it.
My real question is: Why would after-market speedometer cables be "short?" If some are short, is it advisable to keep purchasing an inner wire cable until one fits?

I've inserted a before and after picture of the speedometer end of the cable.
