Default FINALLY...First project in the "NEW" shop

FINALLY, got my first project in my new shop (house). Glad to get the first of "many" V8's to the "Casa" to work on in the evenings and weekends.......been thinking and dreaming of this for over 20 years. SO, I'm sure there will be a few questions and advice up coming.....mainly ignition/condenser related stuff.

Excellent. Jealous of the space you have there. It looks like a nice setup.

Thank you very much, Mart
At first I thought it was a lot BUT as I have added all my equipment and lift it sure "seems" like its shrinking fast......adding vehicles in it also makes it shrink fast too. BUT I am blessed to have it. You are only seeing about a 1/3 of it.... Still adding to it as well. Got to brace the shelves around the upper part a little more before I can start adding parts and a "few" more V8 projects.

Great setup! You'll appreciate that car lift as much as anything else in that garage - beats the hell out of jack stands and creepers! LOL

that's an understatement. I already have (the jeep in the background was the virgin repair job).....you don't realize the depth of your statement until you do your first job with a lift!!! Thanks for the comment.

Great set up. Suggestion: Move your sand Blaster outside or into a separate room to prevent microns of blast dust particles from invading your work space and contaminating your work vehicles and lungs. They are microscopic so you won't see them and you definitely don't want to breather them in.
Yes, they have filter bags but particles still escape. Hope your new adventure is totally successful. CONGRATULATIONS.

Thanks for the advice/reminder

I had a neighbor who put it in perspective a long time ago into "work units" & "joy units"......He always said "keep" the "joy units" on the "credit side" of the ledger, when the "work units" become too much of a debit then "stop"!!!

I would double the ceiling joists and would cover with one inch plywood. Great storage place for engines, and large pieces.
Great looking shop.

Thanks for the compliment, your only seeing about 1/3 of my shop, its a 50 X60 and have a whole area of shelves and IF you noticed the single shelf about 6 or so feet that runs 3/4 of the way around the perimeter of my shop SO I have plenty of storage space for parts (I am hoping).

Not sure that "anything" is hurricane "proof", I can say that it was built in the mid to late 70's with some Amish help.....it has stood through some pretty decent storms since then including a couple of few hurricane's all be it not necessarily an exact direct hit. I have good home owners insurance that it is covered under, does that count?
