Back on the road again.
I finally have my coupe on the road after a 3 year restoration. It feels right at home on the back roads of Minnesota.
I have noticed that the clutch shakes a little when I engage it. I did not replace it, but haven't had this previously. Will it smooth out after some driving (and clutch slipping)? Thanks. |

Re: Back on the road again.
You got that out of a box kit??? LOL, very nice. Hard to say on the clutch, it may depend on if it got some oil/grease on it during assembly or if something else is up.

Nice-looking coupe! I can't see that you've installed the two anti-chatter rods in your picture. Did you install them? DD

Be sure the motor/trans mounds are tightened well.

Re: Back on the road again.
Saw a string about clutch chatter on the Early Ford V8 Club website today. It all seemed to be about the Motor mounts in those cases.

Re: Back on the road again.
Really nice job on the resto! Actually a great job. Hope you figure out the clutch chatter. I Had that problem on an old willys jeep in high school and it was due to an engine mount.

Re: Back on the road again.
The color is Lightfast maroon, I believe. It is easier to see in the sun or with a flash camera but looks pretty dark when in the garage. Coach maroon was also available in 1935 and 36 but is darker and looks more brown to my eye.
Thanks for the comments on my car; I always liked the smooth styling of the '36 Ford. |

Congratulations on the build up and the best of luck with your new special car.
I've got to tell you, however, I miss your pictures of that sharp, blue '34 pickup taking it's ease alongside one of those 10,000 crystal-clear lakes. |

Re: Back on the road again.
Great looking car, I too like the color. If you're like me when I got finished I had the feeling of "what do I do now"?

Re: Back on the road again.
I have the same clutch problem. Its not slipping, the motor mounts were new & anti-chatter rods on. Never thought about tranny mount-Eek!, will have to CK! Maybe I should not be so gentle with the clutch? It only happens on some 1st gear take offs.
