Default 1930 Fordor Blind Back

This being my first post on the NEW Ford Barn I would like to ask if anyone has a 1930 / 1931 170B Fordor Blind Back with pictures.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Joe, my friend in Brimfield Ma. just bought a 30 deluxe fordor (blindback). His interior is kind of rough and needs to be redone but pretty original outside except for a coat of primer. What shape is yours in? Barry B/ Ma.

Thanks for your response Barry.
I bought mine as I now have it. Interior was redone but not correctly. Exterior is painted Black / Blue but good at best. I have had it for about ten years and have enjoyed it greatly. I have replaced the hydraulic brakes it came with and installed the orginial mechanical with new cast iron drums. I also have replaced the front axle because king pin holes where egg shaped. Last big job was a valve job. Like I said I have enjoyed it.
Thanks for your time.

I have just sold, last Saturday, a 1930 170B - blindback. It is going to Montery Mexico. All original sheetmatal in very good coondition but needed some tender loving care on the interior. I can now turn my attention to the 1931 S/W and get her finished.

I always wondered if you could turn a blind back into a town car?

I saw a restorer article where someone answered an add to a fordor and it wound up being a town car turned into a 4 door. Most people thought it was just an average car, but when he saw it in person, he saw the wooden modifications over the drivers compartment. It was pretty neat.

Don't see why you couldn't go the other way.

My friend and I are just finishing the interior of a 31 Briggs Town Sedan in Bedford cord. (LeBaron-Bonney). The interior is almost the same as the Deluxe sedan (blindback) except the T.S. has rear qtr. windows. Let me tell you, it is quite an exercise. Somehow the Briggs body is tougher to do than the Murray and I did two Murrays before. Maybe I'm just getting older. (Whew!)

This is one I worked on about ten years ago.

The reproduction backrest spring was a little and too tall.
