Default Rare and expensive A for sale.

Not often that you see one of these for sale.

Interesting.

It would take someone really up on their game to properly evaluate this vehicle for "correctness." Town cars have a lot of "non-standard" details.

Tim Kelly would know about this car. He lives not far from where it is stated to be, and already has 2 town cars. There is another not far from me, in a private museum.

Basim owns SMI Auto Brokers, and deals in high-$$ & high-quality merchandise. Pretty sure his clients are rarely Fordbarn participants. His price reflects a "you gotta start somewhere" attitude. I hope he is able to sell it at, -or near that price with the new owner 110% happy with their new 'investment'.

Not really he focus of the post but I found this statement interesting "and to get the company into the prestigious high-end market that was dominated by Packard, Cadillac and Buick." According to a video shared on the barn a few days ago about the V8 in '32, it clearly stated that Ford was in the high end market with the Lincoln?.

The pictures are not clear enough to see some of the "give away" details. I wish more were posted. Some features are questionable to me but not being an expert I'm only going by the previous discussion several weeks ago. For now the trunk rack is the later style.

I'll have to send this to my financial planner. When I said I was doing a restoration on a old car he said now that's a good investment. Then I told him it was a Model A and he shook his head.

I'm afraid it does nothing for me - I would have just as much fun in a standard Fordor.
It "might " be an investment but I suspect at 177k initial expense this money could be used to buy other cars which would have a larger potential buyers market and hence appreciate faster -Karl

You could buy 4 Model As in various body styles to suit your needs and have 100 k left over for maintenance.

So, they were an odd ball back in the day, and ended up as taxis, and are expensive now because most got wrecked.

It's all about the 5 words that drive collections of any kind "I have it, you don't".

Agreed, while I can appreciate the rarity it doesnt do much for me. I would get much more personal enjoyment out of a dinged rusted faded paint patina car.

Kinda like a Winchester Model 1898 shotgun for example, most are honest use guns around $300, I'm not paying you 10X the value because its got a rare upsidedown stamping somewhere....BUT there is someone somewhere that has more money than they know what to do with and CAN buy it so just like this car it will be bought.

For that kind of money , I would be looking for a dual cowl , Packard about a 32 or 33
