Mack Hils offers the steel floor over wood like original. Northern only has the wood floor. I have read where the Mack steel floor will not fit the Northern box. Not sure where the problem might be.

So do the mack steel floors match the ford bed? I ordered the structure under the bed from northern and they are spot on to what is original to ford. So If i want the steel bed cover it will not work for macks?

I'm not sure but about 40 but try Brookville, I have one of their model A boxes and love it.

Yes, the Mack floor fits the Ford bed perfectly. I have installed one in my bed.

What was posted was there was a problem mixing componets from the 2 aftermarket brands.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on other boxes. I've found the following places:

Midwest Early Ford
Northern Classic Trucks
Mac's
Dan Carpenter
Pro's Pick

There are varying prices on these and I'm not sure how hard they are to put together. The Dan Carpenter and Pro's Pick appear to not have the factory-level detail on them versus the other ones.

Anyone have experience with any of these?

Stick with mack hills. They make great stuff. The pros pics is a bobo plain streetrod bed. Can't comment on the carpenter ones
