Bill ;
Rubbed my finger inside the carburator throat and felt no grit . I have engine pans and fan shroud and I travel on paved roads only . 31, SW, B touring engine, 4spd O D. I have been thinking about getting a filter provided it actually works .This little exercise now has me thinking no filter .

Clyde That is a nice filter installation there I like it .. Looks like you have the same size or nearly the same K&N filter I do . Mine is Vertical like the original air maze I fabricated a sheet metal shield that is mounted between the air filter and the exhaust pipe to reduce the heat transfer to the filter . I have not had any gas leakage problems with my rebuilt Zenith 1 Carb ... B0B in Michigan
