Default Insurance

Expect to have a Model A in the near future but do not have a clue on insurance considerations. What are the typical limitations imposed for casual/occasional utilization. Any companies provide coverage/cost that serves the hobby particularly well ?

Ditto, Have 5 vehicles with them '29 Coupe, '29 CCPU, '31 Tudor, '31 AA, 1982 Jeep CJ7. Total cost is about 500.00, I live in rural VA retired and do not drive them to work.

Been a Hagarty customer for years but recently changed to Grundy because of them insuring my business. I think both have great reviews.

Some companies have restrictions, some don't. Price also varies, but is generally very cheap. Mine runs less than 200 per year, no restrictions except that I own more than just the A.

I use American Collector for the 9 Model As and a 34 Ford that I have insured. I have had only one claim and it was settled very agreeably. Nice folks to deal with.

I keep mine on State Farm with no driving restrictions, but it is not cheap.

Check with the company that insurers your everyday car. I know the AAA has a division (for lack of the better word) that insures antiques.

If you have been with an insurance company for your home and cars for a while check with them first about a Model A. They should be able/interested in giving you a good quote. Only restriction I have is I may not use my A as a daily driver for work. I do " daily drive " it for fun. Bill

I don't think we are answering this man's questions.

1. Which company are you using?

2. What are the restrictions?

3.. What is the cost?

Mine is under Grundy with no restrictions that I know of. It is under my son's policy as is the registration, so I don't know the cost. Jack

We are also using Taylor, have for almost 40 years. No problems.

Premium under $200.00. Agreed value $17,500.00. Enjoy.

I use American Modern thru the National Corvette Museum for my Vettes and Model A. Call 877-678-7626. They write in most states and can take care of you.

Yup, Same here. Switched from Haggerty a few years ago. Adam at the Corvette museum is a great guy and easy to work with.

I stand corrected, I thought for sure when I applied for my policy they stated that the car had to be mostly stock / stock appearing. Maybe they have different categories. I too asked about usage before I signed up and was happy with what I heard. To paraphrase they told me that they encourage people to get their old cars out and drive them. The mg and Porsche must run like crazy with that kind of power!

The hot rods are tons of fun , but I get more smiles, more thumbs up, more questions and stories driving the A. EVERYONE can relate to it in one way or another.

Love the patina, surprised there is not more visible body rust. Looks like a great every day driver! Perhaps something you would see back in the day.
