Default Rebuilt Returned Re-Waxed Re-Attached and

Ready to Rock-n-Roll............

Was able to do some things lastnight before bed, 11pm, was at it at 4am this morning, all done, tank full and just waiting for the weekend.

Thought I'd re-photograph and show some of Larry's work.

The Chicago Motor Club emblem has been straightened since this photo.

Gentlemen.....Sarah was real nasty underneath, over 40 years since last rebuilt and all the grease and grim proved it. The list is too long of all that Larry did this past winter and the winter before to post. I feel a whole lot more safer on the roads now than when I first adopted her.

Cheers...............

Ed

A related story.......one of my grandfathers died in 63. I remember visiting him in St Louis as I was growing up. He smelled funny, to me as a kid, all musty and old, a different kind of musty though. I had forgot all about that until this morning when I opened up the ratten suitcase (1920/1930s) to bolt it to the carrier and that same smell hit me, so much I got goose bumps and had to look behind me. That smell wasn't there before.......

If anyone remembers earlier photos that showed the firewall, it was full of holes...not no more.

An Autolite heater cover will go on that manifold. Careful, they will roast you. Great looking car you got there. I am sure Sarah feels a whole lot better now.

Stunning. I'm going to cover up my car to ease the pain of looking at it. Have a great weekend....

Got it from Bert's, original..and it will "roast" you out, I have to regulate it by window usage.

Thanks for the comments...got one problem...she dead as a doornail. Got nothing electrical. Have been charging the battery for an hour now and there is still not enough juice to even run the turn signals. Changed out the fuse even though the other fuse was good.

Where did you get that tubing to go from the heater to the port in the firewall? I've never found material that I was happy with, and that looks pretty good.

I used to fly freight in piston twin aircraft and that hose looks identical to the propane engine preheaters we used to warm the engines prior to start on very cold mornings. The metal ducting would sometimes get red hot from the flames just prior to the hose connection and they held up ok.

- Also for Ed - Just like the day you bought her new off the lot with your newspaper money eh?

Just got off the phone with Sarah's doctor, he's making a house call tomorrow, there is a draw off the battery, removed the fuse, no draw, so the battery will recharge overnight. Plus.....got pork steaks to grill tomorrow also, they've been marinating for four days...mid-west tradition, pork steak.

That's where I got it from an aircraft parts supplier...............

Well, I'll have to sell Grit for five more reincarnated lives (again) to pay for her now, inflation!!!!

I spot a reproduction cutout, I had one and it always stuck. I'd start there in looking for your current draw if it hasn't already been gutted for a diode. I use a diode cutout now.

I get the inflation... I'm pretty sure I paid more for a single tire than my granddad did for the whole car! (although he purchased it in the early 60's and it was a basket case then)

He put that cut-out in last winter and there hasn't been a problem. Thought it might be the turn signals but I snipped the wire, didn't help, all that's left is the dash light and that's been off. We'll find it tomorrow.........

I remember when doctors made house calls, Larry's a good man! That sucks that you'll have to wait one more day to get her out on the road. Lots of good people in the model a club!

I wasn't really going anyplace tomorrow anyway, it's Sunday and Monday that I'll be offski, so the whole weekend won't be a waste.
