Default 1934 Bumpers Help

Just bought some pretty nice 1934 Ford front and rear bumpers that I may use on my roadster project. I've got the brackets figured out, but the bumpers are a puzzler. One has an extra reinforcement plate bolted to the back center. That bumper has 2 extra oval bolts that I cannot recall seeing before on others. Are 1934 fronts and rears exactly the same? If so, what have I here? Any help or ideas appreciated.

Maybe that reinforcement was added, if a "clamp on" style trailer hitch was put on at one time.

All 1934 passenger car bumpers are the same-front and rear, except the Victoria rear. Your rear bumper seems to have a reinforcement for a trailer hitch. 1933 bumpers are the same except for the arm hole spacing which are further apart.

All 34 passenger cars are the same front and rear except Vicky rear.I have seen photos of commercial vehicles (delivery vans etc) with a straight rear bumper. The 33 bumper will fit if used with 33 brackets

I'm looking for some original oval bolts like the ones in the two "center" bumper bracket holes in your bumpers, if you have any extras please let me know. Those are the correct ones for 1933 and 1934 Fords. Sir Duce

I have two NOS 1934 bumpers. One has more "bow" in it, than the other.
I don't know, just what to think of it. Any ideas ?

'33 and '34 center bumper bolts are the same in general appearance in that the heads are oval, but that's where the similarity ends. The '33 bolts have 7/16-20 threads and the '34 bolts have 1/2-20 threads. The bumpers and center bumper brackets reflect that difference and a '34 bolt will not fit in the original holes without enlarging the holes in the bumper and the brackets. The '37+ outer bumper bolts have both oval heads and 7/16-20 threads and are lot easier to find than original '33 bolts (whose heads are slightly bigger than both the '34 and '37 bolts).

I think you will find the bumper with six holes goes in front & the bumper with four holes goes in the rear.
Don't know who owns this beauty but I wouldn't mind keep the oil hot.

Aren't bumper bolts on 33 and 34 Round, about the size of a 5¢ piece?

The only ones that are not oval, but round are the '34 versions used with bumper guards, which weren't offered during the '33 model year.
