gas cap
What make a cap vented? I have one that has a hole in the 'wing' but nothing going to the outside. The gasket would seem to make it closed.

Does your cap look like this? This is a 28-29 type.
The venting is from the holes in the center portion to the small gaps in the edge..

I think the early style has a single raised dome in the center with a hole..but it works the same way..
