Default 30 coupe wood header

The header in my 30 coupe is in bad shape. Could I get some advice as to the proper removal of the old header...and the proper installation of a new one.
Would also like some input on where the best place is to get one.
All responses would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan

Installation is all about taking the time to fit the header properly. This was covered really well in this thread:

I'm pretty sure I got mine from Bratton's and was very happy with the quality.

To get the old one out, you need to remove all the fabric, inside and out. Pull the windshield, the visor and the header cover.

Take a lot of pictures, and hold on the old header until you are done with the installation. It will give you a lot of insight in to fitment, regardless of its condition.

I found Les Andrew's "Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook Vol II" very helpful.

Good luck.

Ken

Take a look at these pictures I took when I replaced mine as well as the new interior. I have a metal top so its a little different.

Thanks TinCup,
I plan on leaving mine unrestored for now. I could use some seat covers...if you still have your old ones, would you be interested in selling them?
They would sure be a big improvement over the ones in my car.
Thank you for the pics.

TinCup,

That is about what my header looked like. Getting 'em out isn't bad. They just crumble out.

Nice job with all your work.
