Shortly before I married my wife I took her to a Chuck Berry concert. When Chuck did the "Duck Walk" I commented "Look at that old man cook". I think he was 46 at the time.

You will be missed.

Yup, KING, for sure, as Elvis, Buddy Holley et al....were influenced and imitated him.

Rest in peace Chuck, but won't miss you, because you will be singing here for as long as things hold up !!
?
Elvis was released That's All Right Mama a full year before Chuck released Maybellene. He wasn't imitating Berry.

I like them all but Eddie Cochran's my favorite.

RIP Chuck, saw him 3 nights in a row on the Strip in the mid 70's.

I have always loved Chuck Berry's music! His lyrics have been a part of my responses for years.

Keep V-8ing and 4-banging!

Saw a sign at Sonics yesterday that said "Chuck Berry will be missed. Now hiring." I guess they need someone to take Chuck's place.

Chuck Berry left a bitter taste in a NZ promotor's mouth when he visited here a while back.

According to this guy he was a great performer but an a'hole of a person. He was here with Bo Didley who was also a great performer but he also a nice guy. Not taking anything away form the man as a musician, but this is an interesting article. He no doubt would have disappointed his NZ fans.

Many of us here have fond memories of cruising Main St. listening to
Chuck Berry and all the other greats in the 50's and 60's.
Its news like this that makes us reflect on our own mortality.
Here's to all of us ,may we all make it to 90 or beyond.
Rock & Roll and V8 Fords, FOREVER !!
