Ford-O-Matic case stamp identification
I have been looking through all the Transmission identification postings to try and identify the Ford-O-Matic transmissions I have, but have failed to find the exact ones I have. Can anyone tell me what I have for the following case stamps:
PAK-7006-C PMB-7006-D Also, what stamp code would indicate a transmission from a super-charged Ford? |

Re: Ford-O-Matic case stamp identification
Yes, I saw that information in an earlier post. Does that mean my PMB-7006-D is also from a T-bird?
Any idea what the PAK-7006-C was from? |

The second number, PMB-7006-D, I could not identify for certain since it wasn't listed in this listing. https://www.charlietranny.com/FordomaticID.htm The PMB prefixes that were listed were as follows. The PMB-7006-A was used in 1955 Mercury applications with 292 and 4V carb. The PMB-7006-B was used in 1955 Ford 292 with 4V carb applications. The PMB-7006-C was used in 1955 T-bird with 292 and 4V carb applications. All of these are medium case transmissions. It could have been a T-bird application that was short lived in that time frame. Maybe late in the model year but this is all just speculation. Last edited by rotorwrench; 10-29-2020 at 05:58 PM. |

Re: Ford-O-Matic case stamp identification
The TRANS ID will have BASIC PN 7003 (7003 being an assembly).
A main case will have a CASTING ID BASIC ENGINEERING PN 7006.
