Default A good brand name flow thru electric fuel pump

Ok.. I know it's been discussed before, my buddy needs a new 6 volt, flow thru electric fuel pump. It's for a 1947 FORDOR sedan with v8. Any suggestions?.. I told him he should use that type and re-install his mechanical pump... We went to an event yesterday and he was having intermittent vapor lock because his fuel pump is getting tired...

I have a 12 volt system and use an Airtex, which is a flow-thro design. I understand they make a 6 volt version. Like many I use it only for priming the carb. I recommend keeping (or replacing) the mechanical pump. I have a spare in my trunk, rebuilt by Charlie NY. I had a few instances with vapor lock and the electric pump did save the situation.

If you get an Airtex one make sure you get the low pressure 6v one or you will have to install a regulator.

Airtex E8902 is the one you want. They are available from lots of places. Google it and find your deal.
Here is one vendor you can see the specs. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...iABEgKxvvD_BwE

I just found Rockauto recently to get some 6v + Tridon flasher units. Great people to deal with, competative price and good service. 8 days to get them to me in NZ...can't bitch about that.

I just put the Airtrex E8902 on my '47 fordor v8. It's working perfectly, using it along with the stock fuel pump. I put it on a momentary toggle switch and just use it for starting after it sits for a few days and vapor lock.
