Default '50 Ford Passenger Side Mirror

I've been wanting to install a passenger side mirror for a while. I want it to be functional and not just for looks. I'm planning on getting the OEM type for '50 models. Does anyone have and use one, also how well do they function? Exact measurements for the mounting location would also be a big help. Thanks

I got a set of mirrors for my '50 from 2 different vendors and they were all the same. You can't adjust the right mirror to where you can see in it proper and then it won't stay in place. It has been a while and they may have corrected the problem. A template comes with the mirrors. There are 2 mounting options and I mounted mine below the crease in the door. The other option is up above the crease in front of the vent window. It might work better in that location.

The mirrors that are being sold by Carpenter at about $50. will work on either side and look like the original mirror. I have the temp. drawing for the mirror. If you e-mail me with your address I will scan it and send it to you.

I'm running a set from Shoebox Ford & they both work. I can see from the right side well & it stays adjusted unless someone bumps it. I think the same mirrors can now be found at Shoebox-central.com http://shoebox-central.com/.

Also, I mounted mine on the vertical part of the door just in front of the vent window.
