Default Kingpins

Did a search on this topic, read many posts.. much good info. I need to install kingpins in my 39 Merc, I do know that I will have the bushings honed to fit at local machine shop. What I would like to ask is there a better source than another for the actual parts? I know most of the major old car sources list kingpins but in this day of dubious parts quality, is there a BEST source for these parts? I have learned that is the case for wiring, dist. rebuilding, carb rebuilding, authentic hardware, etc. so,.........I welcome any input on the subject. I also welcome any general advise on the whole process....... I am 61 yrs old but have never "done" kingpins.

Thanks in advance for any input!

For quality search for old stock made in the usa stuff but be careful and make sure they dont have any rust on them. 39 to 41 ford is the same and I'm guess its the same as the mercury. Pretty much everything you find now is made overseas

I agree with earlier posts, the NOS or NORS ones are by far the best. Even there new ones made ins the US, much of the steel they use is not as good as it used to be because it can be imported. Check with guys like Fred Wilner at South Side Obsolete, or Ron at Dennis Carpenter NOS.

Thanks for the input guys. I went to that auction site and found an nos Federal Mogul kingpin kit that looked pristine as well as 2 nos outer tierod ends. I verified the local machine shop can hone to fit the bushings so things look ok for now.
