Lets See Your 190A Victoria
If you have a 190A in any condition, please post a picture of it here.
My pictures: >As purchased in 1993; >As restored in 2016; >Vanderbilt Motor Parkway Dedication 2018. This 190A was assembled in April or May of 1931. The colors are not original, but I like it this way. My 190A is restored for touring with a 12V electrical system, halogen headlights, turn signals, LED tail lights, modified Model "B" motor, Flathead Ted's brakes and a 12V power panel for GPS and cell phones. The flywheel has been chopped and the clutch is from an early Ford V8. The front floor is modified for easy access to the transmission fill plug, and it has reflective heat shields. The body has insulation and sound deadening. Recent additions are a tool box at the radiator apron, and a luggage rack in back.

How do I post a pic? The barn asks for an URL, I don't even know what that means.

Titled as a 1930, 190-A. I've owned it for 18 months. Bought from an elderly man in San Antonio, TX. It has Ken Davis A/C, modern shocks.

Here's ours, an early 1931 flat firewall, Took about 2 1/2 years to restore as a driver, and we love to tour as much as possible.

Fredski53,
Are you a member of the International Victoria Association. The reason I am asking is because I do not see your 190A listed among the surviving cars in the Associations database that I manage. Email me: [email protected]

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Here is a picture of my unrestored early May 1931 Victoria. I purchased it in 1980 and used it as a tour car for a few years. I repainted the tops of the fenders, the wheels and had it repinstriped, the rest is Ford factory original. Now I show it (470 points in Reno) and take pictures of details for people who are restoring Victoria's.

Art,
Thanks for posting your photos, especially the wood assemblies. Pictures of the wood for a steel-back are rare, and very beneficial to 190A restorers.

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Here are some shots of my first Vickie I know you guys may not like what I turned it into but here goes. My uncle bought the car in 1951 and put a drive line from a 39 ford in it . He used to take me rides in it when I was just a little guy. He quit driving it in 1957 and parked it in a barn. I purchased it from him 50 years later in 2007. I purchased another Vickie last summer and I will keep that one original. Sorry can't get pictures to upload something about I don't have permission from the administrator

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Posting for John Billingsley.
I purchased my Vickie from my uncle, in 2007 after it sat in a barn for 50 years. He took me for rides in it when I was just a little guy (now 70 yrs). I suppose some of the guys won't like what I've done with it, but it took me 7 yrs for the build. But I liked the body style so much, I purchased another 1931 Vickie just 5 miles from where I bought my uncle's Vickie. This one was restored in the late 80's, and I'm going to keep it original.

I have no idea whose cars these are, or when these pictures were taken. However, these pictures show some details of accessories on 190As.

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
A good friend of mine passed away a little over two years ago and he had this older restoration Victoria in storage that he was working on. The owner of the storage garage where it has been kept needs the space now so my late-friend's widow will need to sell the car. Here is a photo of it:
....and the roof: It is a very solid and older restored car that he drove into the heated storage garage about four years ago. The interior is in fair condition except for some tattering around the base and edges etc. He had removed the front fenders and was in the process of converting the side mounts to a rear mount but unfortunately passed away before he could complete the work. Does anyone recognize this car or possibly know the history of it? I'm curious if it is recored in the Victoria Association? Brad in Maryland PS: If anyone might be interested in purchasing this car, send me a PM with your questions and I can put you in contact with the owner. |

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Brad,
I keep the Victoria Associations record of surviving 190A Victorias. I need some info to check the record to determine if that 190A is in it. On the firewall there should be a tag with a number starting 190A-?????. In need this number, and the owner's last name. Send me the info in an email.

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Bought my 1931 Vicky steelback in 2017. It is a driver and the wood is pretty rotten. As soon as I finish my 1940 Ford pickup build, I plan a full frame off build of the Vicky. Plan is to build a hopped up banger.

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
I sure am glad I did some research on Victoria's before I went to look at one this week in "Northern New England"! Lucky for me I stumbled onto this thread.
I discovered the very same car listed just a couple posts ahead. Only, now it has a different chassis, different rear fenders and running boards, different wheels, grill and I suspect many other important pieces. The current owner told me, he had given up on the restoration, and that's why he was selling it. Makes me wonder what he said to the "Late Friends Widow"? In all fairness, now it belongs to him to do whatever he wishes. But since someone was being dishonest to me, I felt it was fair for me to let others know. Be careful when buying there are cannibals in this hobby. My search continues! |

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
I put a luggage rack on the back of my 190A, but it detracts from that special body curve of the rear panel. I need the luggage capacity the rack provides for runs to the Model "A" Ford New England Meets Kathy & I go to annually. So the trade-off is that I will be making the rack easily removable for running locally.

Re: Lets See Your 190A Victoria
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone.
First time to post here, have been looking for some time. Have a 45 year stored 1926 Tudor, all stock and just got a 1931 Victoria 190A Leather Back. Going to need new tires before I go on any long trips. It just fell into my lap. I promised my wife I won't buy another car, but there is no way I could pass up a deal like this one. She, as well as the whole family love this one. I’m going to be joining the Victoria Association shorty. Bob Bidonde, I just sent you a pm with some pictures. Hope they are not too large. Here are a few pictures of my new find. Regards,PaulB |
