Repro brake/ clutch pedal
Has anyone purchased reproduction brake/clutch pedals vendors sell? I am considering purchasing a pair, but want make sure they are exact duplicates that can be used to replace original pedals that are badly worn.

Re: Repro brake/ clutch pedal
Brent,
I have never seen repro pedals in parts catalogs, but I haven't look very hard - the whole brake or clutch pedals. I was referring to the head that has to be welded onto the shaft after the worn head is cut off. I think I have the MIG skills to align and weld a head on if the pedal head is a duplicate of the original. Rusty Nelson |

The head is close enough to pass for all but the earliest pedals, and the late '30-31 style stamped head. In the perfect world, clamp a clutch housing to a workbench to mount the pedals on, and then mark your table where the worn pedal is resting. Then cut the old head off where the original one was welded to the shank and align the new pedal head. We Tig weld the new heads on, but you can likely do the same with a Mig. The biggest issue is to make sure both new pedal heads are in the same plane once they are welded on. |
