I'm starting a new thread so you won't need to read through the entire original thread to see my new question. My original problem was water on the dipstick, confirmed by the valve chamber being full of white gunk. After getting the head off I discovered the following: head gasket not blown; head cracked in two spots around No. 5 stud hole, from stud to small water passage and then to large water hole in center; head also slightly warped (around .015 on feeler gauge). I have an older rebuilt block, and what can be seen after cleaning looks great, little wear, no visible cracks. Pistons show no sign of water in combustion chambers. I am concerned that I haven't found whatever is causing water in my oil, and would appreciate any thoughts about that.
