Default Painting Doors

Hello,

What works better for painting doors: Laying them flat on sawhorses, or hanging them up vertically? I need to consider that they have a lot of nooks and crannies around the edges that could be tricky to reach...

Thanks,
Doug

We hung my doors up in correct orientation, side by side.
Worked for us.......

I did the lay it flat on saw horses, I didn't like the end result, If, say ye, when, I do it again I plan on making some type of rotisserie fixture for each door so I can roll them 360 degrees as I paint them, so I dont have to do the crazy Ivan boogie to paint them, Its a lot to keep track of to have them stationary and it doesnt work to tape them and flip them, you get an edge that is hard to hide. I suppose the big trick here is where and how do you grab them? I think a glance a few pro paint shops will show us that.

Thanks for posting all the photos! I'll probably try that approach.

You really have to try hard to get runs in the paint when they are laying flat. The downside to this is that airborne trash in the booth could have a tendency to settle on it.
