Kewanee Green & Elkpointe Paint Color Codes

I have used Dupont paints in the past (Centari) and now find that this paint is obsolete and Dupont has sold their paint line to another company. All the paint code history is of no value.

In the past year, has anyone used another paint company and has gotten a good match with the Model A Ford Paint and Finish Guide?

Does anyone have any experience with TCP Global & PPG acrylic enamel single stage paint systems?

The Dupont dealer I talked with said that they are now selling Urthane paint as a replacement for Centari. The last car I painted was six years ago and it seems that there has been a lot of changes in automotive paints. Thanks for any suggestions, Ed

I've only used TCP for interior trim parts and I was very satisfied with quality, performance and low cost. I've used PPG and think it's great, but rather pricey. I've been using Sherwin Williams for quite a while and I like it. They also carry a "discount" brand that's great quality and lower cost for single stage enamels.

Could you send me the Sherwin Williams paint codes for Elkpoint Green and Kewanee Green? I would appreciate it very much. DuPont codes were DS127 and DS118.

TCP global will mix lacquer and other single stages but will only ship to areas not affected by VOC reg's like in most of Calif. They have a Restoration line that is ok to work with based on the original color codes/chips they have on-hand. They will hand / computer color match a supplied sample for a nominal charge. I have older PPG acrylic enamel on one car that is more forgiving than lacquer but takes some skill to feather in repairs. I like that single stage offers one paint layer that can be sanded and polished to remove imperfections. Given the current paint expense and color matching hassles, some extra material for future repairs is essential.
