Default Horn Installation Problem

I’m trying to install my old Spartan horn onto my new wiring harness. How do you get the terminal connector clips open enough to push the bullet connectors in? The old bullet connectors came out of the harness fairly easily with a pair of pliers.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this, Robert

Thanks Bob

I thought that the bullet connectors went straight in, but I see in your picture that they go in sideways. I got one in that way with the help of snap ring pliers but broke the other one. I think that I’ll try to solder that bullet connector to the broken connector clip.

Thanks again, Robert

Yep, sideways.

the horn wires clamp under the clips on the motor base, not inside them.
A common mistake...the photo in Bob C. #2 post is correct.

The terminal connectors in the picture look like the ones that I have except that mine were mounted differently. My horn is probably a repro from the 1960’s or thereabouts. (I bought the car in 1989.) Both connectors were broken off but still connected to the armature and the wire bullet ends were pushed into the them and lightly soldered. There was enough tape on this to keep anything from shorting out. I now plan install a new terminal insulating block and terminal connectors.

Thanks again to all of you, Robert
