Default Chicle/Copra Drab Color Combo + Black painted wheels

Hello,

Looking for photos of 1930 tudor sedans with the copra/chicle drab color combo and black painted wheels. Google has an endless amount of this color combo with white walls and straw wheels. However, I am interested in in cars with black walls and black painted wheels only. Thank you.

Curiosity finally makes me ask “Why?”

I only found a couple Chicle/Copra with black wheels and no 2 door sedans...

Strange because it was a popular color and probably 95% of the 1930 Tudors were delivered with black wheels.

It is an attractive combo and seemingly rare now.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I’m curious as to why I’ve seen so many different tones of copra and chicle drab some seem to be variations of tan/browns while others seem to appear as gray/greens? I prefer the tan/brown I wonder which is the correct colors Henry Ford painted them?

I think the big problem is that the original formula is hard to match in different brands of paint so some come out tinted different. Some like the green, I like the tan/brown like you. I have had several samples mixed up and none of them were the same, some were way off. Some took a reading with a camera and still were off so the paint man had to fine tune and still did not get it right. It is too bad because that is a really good color combo.

plus some of it could be how the pictures shown on the computer were taken (digital or film), their quality, how they were uploaded (scanned or direct), the specific computer monitor and its individual color/contrast/brightness settings.

I think Great Lakes Greg has a nice picture of his Victoria in the correct chicle and copra drabs with black wheels. The brown tint of those colors match the current Paint and Finish Guide.

I got part of that wrong. Great Lakes Greg's car was a blindback, not a Victoria, and he did have the correct chicle and copra colors. I may have his paint formula's somewhere. The picture of a Victoria I was thinking of was posted by Badger A. You can find that picture in a thread started by me. Type "Victoria colors" in the 'search this forum' search bar. Art

The first 2 editions of the paint chips are said to be wrong. The 3rd edition is said to have the correct color chips. Until there is an original car with Copra Chickle Drab colors to examine, these colors remain an unknown

It's been ages but original chicle/copra does exist
There was an original Tudor at Gatlinburg meet
The currently known formula is wrong....too green
The original is true brown tones with maybe a hint of green
