Default tudor top material width

I'm preparing to replace the top material on my 28 tudor, when I measure the widest part of the top it is about 62.5 inches. Can I get by with material that is only 63" wide? Any suggestions.

I think it would be extremely difficult to get a nice fitting top with only 1/4 to play with on each side. Almost impossible. You have to be able to pull to get all the wrinkles out and you will not have enough slack to be able to do that. IMHO

It's often been said that there are times in life when you could use a couple extra inches. Like 31Tudor says, it will make a big difference in the way the finished product looks. This is not a time to scrimp !

I put a top on my 29 last year and I can't imagine having only 1/2 inch to pull, stretch and straighten with. Besides, I think you would need at least an inch on either side to go under the Hide Em.

Are current top kits not wide enough?

I had purchased all of the parts for the top from a vendor and they back ordered the top material. I had not purchase a kit but individual pieces. Some of the vendors offered the 63" material but I did find one tonight that sold the 64" width by the foot. I ordered it from them and will let you know how it fits. Thanks for the help.

Sunbrella has the canvas material in 80" widths. The material if I remember correctly it is Sunbrella 800.
