Default NOS Ford clutch disc or new spring type.

I have been searching past post about clutch disc and getting more confused than the correct way to go.I have a NOS Ford script disc, original style but I read that these are the source of clutch chatter.I see the spring type are better, reduced chatter but springs may come loose, but Brattons sells one now that is crimped in place. Will the original Ford one be the safe way to go although mayby the irritating chatter to deal with.Thank You

I would use the disc with the springs that are caged in the hub of the disc.Got mine from Bert’s model A in Co. I’m using an original style pressure plate that I checked and adjusted the finger heights as per instructions found on this forum. Also used the aftermarket longer then stock clutch release arm.My clutch is very smooth and pushes easily.

I would recommend using the new style. Should be quieter, and smoother of the line.

Save the NOS as a collector item. Enjoy.

Well I appreciate the couple of answers but upon checking it appears that all the clutch disc that are offered at least the ones where the springs are snapped in are foreign made. I think that Fort Wayne supplies or rebuilds the original style so I am going with what worked when new.
