Got a Ď40 pickup thatís modified. Believe chassis to be 1948-1956? chassis numbers hidden with brake lines & junction block too much in front of them to see. Has front dropped I front with leaf spring pads on & leafs right & left. 4 vertical cross memís. @ Front bumper behind tranny, approx 2í front of rear & extreme rear where rear bumper attaches. Would like to figur year or at least confirm itís an F1 chassis. Sorry pics a little rough.

Does it have tube shocks or lever action. The 42 to 47 frame is pretty much the same as a 48 to 52 with the exception of cross steer and lever shocks

Could be a 42 to 47 pu with a 40 41 nose. But to make it look right the cab has to be channeled or dropped. Most of the time it looks like a total disaster

How is it titled/registered? Is the serial number on the paperwork?

"Missing security token" are code words that usually really mean your pictures are too large. If you don't know how to downsize them PM me, or post what photo software and hardware you are using and someone will post instructions.

The 40 and 41 frames/chassis would have a transverse rear spring. So it would have to be later if it is an original type of chassis.

I knew it wasn’t a ‘40 or ‘41 chassis. Looks like it could be either a ‘42-‘47 or ‘48-‘51 both R very similar. I think rather than cut the stock ‘40 Chassis to fit the modern V8 & Auto Trans he changed chassis’s. Thx guys, that gets me close enough.

I saw your other post with pictures. The tail gate looks like the 42 to 52 tailgate. The outer edges were the raised panels are, thats the give away. The lack of the fuel fill pipe is another clue. Look inside the cab on the passanger side and see if it had a fill pipe hole

Unless they switched the steering and brakes; F-1 would be side steer with Bendix brakes, while the earlier chassis would be cross steer with Lockheed brakes.

Based on Vanpelt drwgís frameís definitely Ď42-Ď47 matched up exactly. No welded patch on cab so believe itís a Ď40 or Ď41 cab. Front clip is Ď40 as well with a Ď41 hood. As said previously it is modified & has what looks like a Chromed speedway front dropped I-beam for F-1 w disc brakes. I think the rear is from old Camaro or firebird w leafs. Bit of a Frankenstein but love it! Very pretty Frankenstien

That rusted-chrome, steering "thing-a-ma-jiggy" sure is spooky looking. The neat part of it all is that the NEW OWNER is happy with it. DD

DD definitely gotta talk to Speedway for better steering link. While it looks shaky its very solid and works, agreed steering thing-a-ma-jiggy is ughly! All the front suspension looks like chromed Speedway stuff so now that chassis is IDíed will see whatís better & available. Their chomed suspension pieces didnít hold up well in the previous owners garage while stored 4 23 yrs & wouldnít have been my choice. Will clean up & do black.

As rich b indicated It looks like it was an early F1side steer originally. The holes still in the frame but the builder installed a power stering box mounted forward on chassis as seen from below in pic.

Thats what i ment, was what kind of steering box is in it currently? Its weird the drag link hooks to the left spindle and its cross steer? Unless i am seeing it from the opposite direction.

If it had a factory hole on the left frame rail for a drag link(front to back) then the frame is a 48 to 52
