Thermostat housing gasket
I know I should know but forgot😁I know newer ford cars use same gasket making it easy to get at parts store. I had to pull a sticking thermo & am in a jam & need a gasket to get back on the rd. I’m in a parts store parking lot so, help. I’m thinking I remember a 289 ford uses same?help

Re: Thermostat housing gasket
Buy some gasket material and make your own . Just trace the t-stat housing .

Re: Thermostat housing gasket
Straight 6 or V8 65-95 fits after some scissor work...taking that extra ear away.
Atleast that is what comes in some of the felpro kits for flatheads today. |

Re: Thermostat housing gasket
Do like Ford Freak suggested. Easy to make and you'll have gasket material for more, if needed. Buy thick gasket material so it seats really good.

Re: Thermostat housing gasket
If you have a late flathead you might check to see if the gasket from an early Chevrolet V-8 will work.

Stant 25138 with adhesive already applied - holds the stat in place when installing the housing.

Re: Thermostat housing gasket
flatheadmurre, bingo used a ‘67 mustang 289 gasket. Fit worked great. Got me to the Rod Run & home. Will do the trim work tomorrow with exacting blade.
