Default Thermostat housing gasket

I know I should know but forgot😁I know newer ford cars use same gasket making it easy to get at parts store. I had to pull a sticking thermo & am in a jam & need a gasket to get back on the rd. I’m in a parts store parking lot so, help. I’m thinking I remember a 289 ford uses same?help

Buy some gasket material and make your own . Just trace the t-stat housing .

Straight 6 or V8 65-95 fits after some scissor work...taking that extra ear away.
Atleast that is what comes in some of the felpro kits for flatheads today.

Do like Ford Freak suggested. Easy to make and you'll have gasket material for more, if needed. Buy thick gasket material so it seats really good.

If you have a late flathead you might check to see if the gasket from an early Chevrolet V-8 will work.

Felpro 9712
Stant 25138
with adhesive already applied - holds the stat in place when installing the housing.

flatheadmurre, bingo used a ‘67 mustang 289 gasket. Fit worked great. Got me to the Rod Run & home. Will do the trim work tomorrow with exacting blade.
