I have a 42 Merc engine and you guys made me realize why there are empty holes in my conduit tubes and why I have two wires in my #5 spark plug wire hole. I did the crossover below the crab instead of using the proper holes in the conduit. Now I will have to change that. Unfortunately my pictures won't load. So one empty hole is in the inside of the drivers side conduit at the firewall end. The other empty hole is on the inside of the pass. side conduit on the forward end. I had good pics too.

Yes you are correct. The forward wire on the RH side front crosses over through the inner hole and vice versa on the opposite side.

Being a flathead newbie, I thought these conduits were all the same, and I ust picked some up from a local guy last year. Was curious, and went down to check what I actually had. Mine have the three holes and still have wires connected to the helmet style caps. There is a ID band, but I can't make out what it says.

Here are the two pictures that fortyfords was having a difficult time loading in post #41 above. DD

35fordtn, Do you have any extra tubes for a 1939 Deluxe Coupe? I have the caps and elbow piece for each side, but no tubes.
Thanks,

Here's a photo from a '42 that has won preservation awards.

Also, new old stock is wonderful stuff but just like the stuff listed in parts books, it's not necessarily what was installed on the assembly line.
Mike thanks for posting this photo. This is a new one for me, learned something new.
