My Daughter driving the Speedster
My Daughter had alot of fun,she drove me around in the speedster. "This is gonna be Alot of Fun this summer" she says. We drove in down some dirt backroads, about 5 miles. Good throttle response, stops good,steering...ive got to add somemore length to the drag link,I had moved the steering box back and am using the short pitman arm. Needs to turn tighter. The brown spot on the hood is Gun bluing (test spot). Lots of work left to do.

Looks like a lot of fun and a good father-daughter experience. I can't wait until my daughter (now 4) is ready to drive my Coupe!

Re: My Daughter driving the Speedster
Well Wick, she will be a natural and will find much enjoyment out of the car. Congrats to you Sir! My son also started racing karts early on (age 5) and has progressed into liking Model A's & T's with a sincere passion.
Since you mentioned your daughter now liking Model T's, my daughter drove her first Model T at age 15 while we were on tour out in Iowa several years ago, ...and then promply stated she wanted one of her own, so we built her a speedster. Sounds like your daughter is fixin' to have one of her own too! BTW, I might add that the Model T club has a bunch of kids involved in the hobby, ...and many of them have their own speedsters, --or had them and now have gotten older & married, ...and they now have a "family car" (Touring or Roadster) on tour. THAT is the way you get younger kids involved in the hobby! . |

Re: My Daughter driving the Speedster
I wish there were kids my age (18) closer to Foxborough that i could work on A's with all day. Most of the friends come help me with my tudor and my tractors but none really want or can afford their own.
Although my girlfriend really wants a model A, she doesnte even have the money to buy a regular everyday car. she wants a jeep like mine... psshhh. its my jeeppaaa! lol I shouldn't have taught her to drive a standard... *looks both ways* Click for large view. My 1991 Jeep Wrangler Renegade one of 1,400 sold (3,945 were made). PS: Took that picture with a 1980 Canon AE-1 (35mm camera) on 11-3-10... Im also hard core into 35mm film and super 8 movie film. i develop black and white film in my closet! hehe Last edited by Modelakid31; 01-17-2011 at 02:28 PM. |
