Default Engine color?

I have this 48 ford coupe and was doing some cleaning on the engine.The spedo shows 64,ooo miles on the car any way the block is painted red and the heads have blue on them,doesn't smoke or seem to use oil.
What color is it all soposed to be? Thanks for any info and this is a great site read on it all the time.........

Hi, To be "correct" your block, heads, intake, and water pumps should be the Ford dark blue engine paint available from your favorite parts supplier in aerosol spray cans or in quarts for brushing (the last one is a Bill Hirsch product). I believe the head nuts should be cadmium plated, the oil pan, generator, starter, spark plug conduits, and air cleaner should be black. You can get a nice restoration manual for your car from the Early Ford V8 Club that will provide you with all of the correct details for your engine and its compartment.
