The Model A is 14 years old in the picture. It was relegated to "old car" status. A 14 year old car today (2005 model) would not be considered an "old car" (at least for me). Times have changed.

I don't understand. The caption says 1942 but the war would be on then. And the shirt says 1945.

My first thought was the year they would graduate.But,look close.I think that shirt says 1845.Maybe the year the school was established.

GWU would be George Washington University. And the football team is indeed named "The Colonials."

I looked at it again and in a low res photo it does look like an 8 but when you open the high res file it is definitely a 9 so it is his class year
