Ronnie,

You managed to plagiarized my FordBarn trafficator post word for word and even used my and Skip's photos. The original author of the first page of your article was Dean Kirsten which you also copied word for word ....as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Here is the link to my original Ford Barn post about the trafficators for even more photos/discussion:
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3327

I have since sourced an original German Ford dealer album from 1930 which clearly states that trafficators were standard equipment on all closed Ford passenger cars and truck chassis (when a cowl was included with the chassis).

Fordially,

Smile Re: Turn signals flip up too

I restored a 1931 Cabriolet that spent its early life in Findland and it also had trafficators ( turn signals) on it when it came back to the USA which looked like the ones pictured. At the time I didn't think they belonged on a Model A. After about 10 years sitting on my shop shelf they went fast on ebay. I now wish I still had them. Boy the things you can learn on the Ford Barn!

The referred to 'Turn Signals' we used to call 'Symaphores' and they were a common item found on trucks of the '20's, '30's & '40's. On trucks, they were not built into the body, but rather attached to the cab, behind the doors.
