Default Electrolytic/Electrolysis rust removal

Am about to set up a 45 gal barrel, have it on wheels to move from unheated storage portion of shop when not in use to heated ventilated area when I want to use it. No doubt the solution will freeze when not in use and stored in the unheated section of shop, will this freezing damage the solution ???

That's a good writeup on the process.
There are some good videos on uTube as well that inspired me to use for gas tank cleaning.

It has good warning:
NEGATIVE LEAD: Hook the wires up backwards and your vintage part will become sacrificial!

Thanks 19fordy, that looks very informative, am guessing if I store the mixture and it freezes and is not as effective it not a costly loss for the cost of baking soda

I'd guess that the solution would have a lower freezing point a bit lower than pure water, since the electrolyte is sodium carbonate.

I don't think freezing could harm the solution. It might cause some separation, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by stirring it up.

How about a stock tank heater to keep it from freezing (if you have power in your unheated area).
