Check your ignition. An ignition problem will often mimic a fuel problem.

Had that to happen a couple of times with my 47 Ford coupe. While driving around 40 to
45 MPH I would down shift to 2nd gear and hold the 40 to 45 MPH steady for about a
block and then shift to high gear. It would smooth out. what was happening was the car
was loading up and fouling out the plugs. Check your plugs.

I've had problems before with moisture in the cap but it would completely die and had to change cap.Thought about some water in gas but it seems to run and I have to really get the rpm up and it goes up and down till it smooths out.Surges while I run it high rpm. Thanks
