Craigslist ad...it just showed up a few hours ago. Not mine, and I'm not interested.

12,400.
Restored and it looks great.
Sitting on a trailer.
No significant details. No engine photos.

Sure, it could be an amazing deal by a bad salesman, or is it just another scam?

I looked it over and the picture looks nice from a distance but up close tells the story. To me it looks like an old complete car that was pulled out of storage and given a nice paint job. Could of had a few items worked on like seats. It looks good in a picture but when you get close you see what it looks like. The nice clean trailer it is on helps it look good. Lots of pictures but none of the motor compartment. That is strange. Could be because the motor compartment would tell you it is priced to high.

I'd try calling. Scammers usually never put their phone number or include more than one picture.

Probably just a bad salesman.

Standard roadster with a DeLuxe top. See the top looks like it's going uphill and the dash panel is from an early 30 before they had DeLuxe, Repro horn but that doesn't matter

I agree. If you look close, there are area’s that would bring price done.

If I were in the market for another car and it were close, I would take a look.

Starting price seems right for a 30 footer. Engine and running gear? $$$$$$?

The hood fits like it has frame sag. New front spring, old rear spring. front fender looks like it needs work. Plus what you can not see. It is priced about what it is worth or maybe a little high.

As has been stated, multiple photos and a phone number usually rule out a scam. Too bad you can't seen the license plates. Back ground could be Arizona. It may be an older restoration showing its miles. Price seems realistic, not crazy high, or dirt cheap (another indication of a scam). Talk to the seller on the phone. If your close, go have a look.Please let us know what you find.

Scammer's rely on the buyers belief that the deal is too good to be true,and closes the deal before doing his due diligence.

Remember the basics,paperwork,number verification.The car is in Arizona..but due diligence requires the car present during the transaction.If the seller hems and haws about producing the car there your scammer..that being said 99% of deals are legit in my opinion,novice sellers often aren't properly prepared to sell.

That's a sweet roadster for 13two..it aint no prom queen but it sure aint a gutter slut either.

I would say the ad is for real as it is also listed on the Horseless Carriage Club website (which costs money to advertise on) and the seller say he can deliver it to the Bakersfield HCCA Swap Meet. This tells me he is an early car collector. Seems like a very fair price for a roadster-even if it does have a few flaws and incorrect items. I don't think it will last long at this price. I would buy it if it was local to me.

I once responded to a Model A ad from one of the national club's websites that was similar to this. The seller's location was one place but the car was in another. They would ship it to me for a fee. Turned out to be a scam.
Afterward, someone I know saw the car on another dealers website. Turned out the dealer had the car and the ad I responded to was a scam and they used the dealers photos.
I would call and ask for a couple specific photos of something not shown.
