Default Hi, new to site and I have a questions.

Hi, awhile back I bought a 30 Ford coupe that had the top cut off after a tree fell on it. The prior owner put a Jeep engine and transmission in it. He also put a Jag front and rearend under it.

I am not able to keep the car and I was going to sell the top that came with it prior to posting the car for sale. Not sure what the top value is on it and I was looking for some ideas. There is no hardware to put the top on this car, so no need for it really.

I bought a 67 Mustang Fastback 390 car and I plan on putting all my time and effort into it, so all other projects must go.

Thanks for any insight!

You should post it in "The Swap Meet" section under "For Sale". Also post on HAMB (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/) as they are more into modified cars.

The problem is, I am not sure what to post it for? Someone told me $1800, but that seems like an awful lot to me?

A photo of the top, less the material, to show the irons would help. I would be interested in 28,29 roadster pic up irons. Email me photos.
$1800 is ridiculous, a few hundred max.

That's what I thought when he told me his value, that's why I wanted to verify before posting with a stupid price. I will try to take some pictures later today. Thanks

Russ is right.
The guy that said $1800 must be watching too much ebay, or smoking something.

I think you should offer to sell the top with the car. It looks like it was modified nicely.

The top is currently just sitting on the car and does not have the correct brackets to connect it yet.

No, I bought the car as you see it. I assume the top is long gone by the prior owner.

I might throw the car on Ebay in a few weeks and see how it does?

Put a price on it that you are happy with and don't look back. Sure you can ask for the moon and someone may come along and say this is exactly what I'm looking for and pay it. Maybe not.

Can you please clarify, what exactly is for sale? Did the $1800 refer to the top ofrthe top and car together ?

He said the top was worth $1800 and I felt it was way to high, that's why I asked the question about value. I hope the car is worth more than $1800 lol If it's not, then I screwed myself when buying it
