I like the way the old fumaze looks, but I don't see how it keep's the oil mist off of the firewall or the fumes out of the inside of the car as the tube only goes down toward's the fender [eng.] pan and not overboard like the newer road tube [oil breather].
Look's like on the older fumaze the airflow from the fan would force the fumes and oil mist back to the firewall and cab before it went overboard.
For you guy's that have had experence with the older fumaze, what's your opin. ?....Thank you.

Did it keep the fumes and oil mist off the fire wall and fumes out of the cab ?
Where did you get the repo? Thank you.

I believe the Fumaze was a repo when it was invented.

I've driven well over 100,000 miles and always had a Fumaze on the engine. I think they are a great accessory and I never have had fumes in the cockpit.
Well, I'll take that back. My cousin Ed was the gaseoust guy I've ever traveled with and the Fumaze did nothing to divert Ed's emissions!

Here is the Fumaze on my roadster, I really like the way that it works. If the model A has engine pans, the air flow from the fan or the flow of air through the radiator while moving will have a direct path of least resistance down the engine pan and carry any fumes, past the floor boards and under the car. No fumes in the car!!!

Here is the original instruction sheet from a NOS fumaze..
It outlines a very interesting internal feature of this period accessory.
I can't seem to scan this bigger...sorry.
If you copy it to an album for enlargement, I think you'd find it a worthwhile read.

Bought a really nice one on flea bay a couple of months ago for I think 140. Oil stink in the car is gone! Was it worth it? Heck yeah!

I have the newer type road tube on now and it work's well, but I like the look's of the older fumaze in the pic.
Im going to an old car swap meet in about two week's, Maybe Ill find one for around A $100...but not no $215 .

I think the repos were $20 or so back in the 70s & 80s. You don't need one if your engine was broken in correctly.
