Hi,
Can this gear be used with the 1940 a later shafts and cluster?

If you look up the different main output shaft numbers in the Ford parts book it shows which gear part numbers, go on which main shafts. That way you can see which gears are interchangeable.

Flathead fever is right. The general answer is no. Some of the truck clusters kept the spur 1st and second gears and the 50 up output shafts had a different twist.
