"Yes, but the trick here is that the other carb fuel bowls are not sitting directly over the carb throat. "

Actually, the trick here is to keep the fuel bowl away from the hot carb base to avoid hot fuel issues after shutting off a hot engine.
And then the towering inferno stories started. I'm sure there have been fires as all carbs have suffered fires from time to time.

So elevating the fuel bowls higher than the base and trapped within in the
heat trap ACL design is better?

The H4150/4160 and to an extent FORD 4100 has a better design as the fuel bowls are remote from the hot base.

The H4000 is fine for a dedicated restoration but has little use on a performance engine.

Tell that to the engineers that worked hard on the E-Code and F-code packages for 1957,
and Kahuna and Alsaka Jim and Oldmics.

Didn't Ford dominate Nascar in 56 and 57? I would imagine the 4000s were used or am I wrong in that?

Sal, The H4000 (and accompanying LOAD-O-MATIC) was an ancient art even during that period. Why did HOLLEY re-design their carb and introduce the FORD 4100 in 1957?

Why did GM run better with Dual WCFB's, especially on the street?

I am not bad-mouthing the carb, just saying for an all-out performance engine, the design was not up to GM and MOPAR of the period.

1956 somewhat and definitely 1957. There was a CHRYSLER TEAM that made them sweat.

But that is how it is supposed to be, good honest competition.

I"ve had pretty good preformance success with my dual quad teapots!

Is there something better SURE !!!! Just add lots of money to the equation.

But then that new fangled stuff ruins the period look.

Every carb has its strong and weak points. Its a matter of knowing what battle to pick and becoming better with that tool than the others.
