Not Model A related- seeking help with older golf cart
we have a 1975 Harley-Davidson 3-wheel golf cart.
the centrifugal clutch has failed and will not engage the local H-D dealer cannot help. neither can any golf cart dealership as far away as Atlanta. they all say "it's too old" (baloney) anyone on FB know anything about these beasts? are there any collectors/restorers groups out there? we need to find a working used clutch assembly OR a parts source if it's rebuildable

my default search engine is duckduckgo.com because they do not track your search activity; however I have noticed that they often give you fewer results than an actual Google search.

If I remember right, that has a variable clutch similar to a snowmobile. Could your V belt simply be worn too narrow?
As far as weights used to pull the clutch halves together, I'd think any machine shop, or you, could fix the worn parts. |

I believe those Harley golf carts were built by EZ GO in the 60's. try an EZ GO dealer. maybe they have an interchange. good luck

Re: Not Model A related- seeking help with older golf cart
Its getting hard to find parts for anything old anymore with all the scrappers picking up everything they can find to make a buck i'm sure that cart is an old AMF made for H-D not too hard to work on you will need to make a special tool to remove clutch after you get it off you can match it up with a snowmobil clutch with the same size shaft

Chris, I have a torque clutch here that may be the same as what you need. Get with me tomorrow.

Re: Not Model A related- seeking help with older golf cart
Harley is Harley, Ez Go is Ez Go, Cushman is Cushman, not many parts of the driveline interchange
try here -- http://www.vintagegolfcartparts.com/...ip=68.38.67.30 The Harleys died out early in this area, the electric cars were too complex, gas too much trouble, the Cushman were the best riding and reliable, the Ez-Go the simplest, the Melex(Poland) copy of the Ez Go had the best fit and finish, but did a bad job of mechanicals--but the nicest installations of cotter pins I have ever seen, ---the Harleys were hard to get parts for in this area |

Or you could do this....
Mine was an electric one and I did a "few" modifications to it. Here are a couple of photos of the "before" and "after" not totally finished. |
