Town Sedan vs. Deluxe Fordor
In another thread someone mentioned equipment in a Town Sedan and a Deluxe Fordor. What exactly is the difference between the two? My title states under body type, 4D. Sorry, but I don't have a copy of the judging standards.

Re: Town Sedan vs. Deluxe Fordor
The "Town Sedan" has rear quarter windows, behind the rear doors. The "Deluxe Fordor", model 170-B and 160-C, is sometimes referred to as the "Blind-back" Fordor because it does not have the quarter windows, but it has all the same Deluxe features as the "Town Sedan". The 170-B Deluxe Fordor was only produced in 1930-31. When the slant windshield models came about in 1931, the Deluxe Fordor was body style 160-C.

Re: Town Sedan vs. Deluxe Fordor
Thanks, Don. I figured that if anyone knew the difference it would be you. I counted the windows on each side and there's three of them So I have a '30 town sedan.

From your description, your friend's car is a Standard Fordor. I have one of those except that mine is a Briggs. |
