Default 1929 water pump question

I see in the Judging standards that the 1929 water pump has no grease fittings. But before in 1928 and after in 1930-31 it did. Was the lack of fittings a problem with water leaking out?

Read the judging standards closer! The water pump you mention is the type that has a bushing in place of the front bearing. This was not exclusively used in 29, Ford used both the type with the front bearing and front bushing between April 1929 and April 1930. I suspect the reason why Ford deleted the front bushing type in April 1930 was due to the lack of lubrication problems.
